Where to Stay Near Clarkson’s Farm
For most guests joining my tours, I recommend staying in Moreton-in-Marsh.
It is the official departure point for the Tour of Clarkson’s Farm Filming Locations, the railway station has direct services from London Paddington, and several good hotels and pubs are within easy walking distance.
My second choice is Chipping Norton, particularly if you are travelling by car and want to stay closer to Diddly Squat Farm Shop, The Farmer’s Dog and the wider Clarkson’s Farm area.
Both towns also make excellent bases for exploring the North Cotswolds before or after your tour.
Accommodation in Moreton-in-Marsh — My Recommended Place to Stay
If you are travelling by train or joining one of my shared tours, Moreton-in-Marsh is the easiest and most convenient place to stay.
The tour starts outside Moreton-in-Marsh railway station, so you can simply walk from your accommodation to the meeting point rather than worrying about driving or parking.
It also has a good choice of pubs, restaurants and hotels, and direct rail connections make it particularly convenient for visitors coming from London.

The Redesdale is in the centre of Moreton-in-Marsh, just a short walk from the railway station. It has a recently refurbished restaurant, bar and terrace and makes an excellent base for joining either my Clarkson’s Farm tour or a private Cotswolds tour.

A well-known Cotswold hotel set in a 16th-century manor house with gardens and a popular restaurant. Located just a short walk from the centre of Moreton-in-Marsh and railway station.
Accommodation in Chipping Norton
Chipping Norton is my second recommendation and a particularly good choice if you are travelling by car.
The town is where I live and operate from. It has traditional pubs, restaurants, independent shops, theatre, cinema, and a much more local feel than some of the more touristy towns.
For some private tours and where practical, local accommodation pickup may also be possible.
Lenny Henry advertises it, but don’t let that put you off. Centrally located, with plenty of rooms and easy access to everything in the town centre.
The Kings Arms – Chipping Norton
A pub in the centre of Chipping Norton offering comfortable rooms above a lively bar. It’s a convenient base for exploring the town. Some rooms may experience noise from music or traffic, so requesting a quieter room is advisable.
Countryside Accommodation Near Chipping Norton
Several countryside properties sit just outside Chipping Norton in nearby villages and estates. These offer a quieter rural setting while still being only a short drive from the tour area.

Accommodation in Stow-on-the-Wold
Stow-on-the-Wold is one of the best-known towns in the Cotswolds and is around 20 minutes from Moreton-in Marsh by bus. Many visitors choose to stay here while exploring the wider region.
